Downloading Your Survey Data

Using the QuickTapSurvey Web App, you can download your survey data in a number of commonly used file formats.

The following outlines the file formats available in QuickTapSurvey. For all file formats, each section represents a single survey response.

File Format: CSV

Description: The header row shows every question separated by a comma and each response row has the answer to each question separated by a comma. The answers are displayed exactly as they were entered.  This format is easy to read and best used when exporting data to another system.

File Format: Raw CSV

Description: The header row shows every question separated by a comma and each response row has the numerical value of the answer to each question separated by a comma. The numerical value for each answer can be found when viewing the details of a survey. This format is perfect for performing statistical analysis on the data or exporting to IBM SPSS analytics software.

File Format: Enhanced CSV

Description: The header is made up of two rows. The first row shows every question separated a set of commas equal to the number of possible answers. The second row shows every possible answer for each question separated by a comma. Each response row has the answer to each question in the position that matches the corresponding answer in the second header row. This format is perfect when you are looking to analyze data for questions that can have multiple responses. (e.g. Multiple Choice - Many Answers)

File Format: Excel

Description: The header row shows every question as a separate column and each response row has the answer to each question in its corresponding column. The answers are displayed exactly as they were entered.
This format is perfect for using Excel to do advanced filtering, analysis, and graphical reporting.

File Format: Enhanced Excel

Description: The header is made up of two rows. The first row shows every question as a set of merged columns equal to the number of possible answers. The second row shows every possible answer for each question as a separate column. Each response row has the answer to each question in the column that matches the corresponding answer in the second header row. This format is perfect for using Excel to do advanced filtering, analysis and graphical reporting of surveys that have questions with multiple responses. (e.g. Multiple Choice - Many Answers)

Note: 4-byte characters will not display in Excel downloads. They will, however, appear in any CSV downloads.
